Some say oohh it's too windy....say what a 25 kmh south easterly gusting to 45 kmh and plenty of shelter from the hillsides and shorelines and it's not that bad.
If you have a tippy kayak that doesn't suit when it gets rough then hey...get yourself a waka ama, sea kayak, surf ski or a stand up paddle board....these craft just love these conditions !
Just a few of us regulars out tonight and a few other kayakers on the water in Evans Bay.....and I'm sure Petone, Eastbourne and Mana plenty of people were on the water there as well.
This weekend big event for Waka Ama as the big boats the W6's take to the water for the Mana Super 6 Ocean Challenge....you'll see these guys start out from Ngati Toa Domain and out out to Mana Isalnd then down the Kapiti Coast.
